EVAN
BROWN

Founder &
Executive Director

Originally from California, Evan studied English and Education at Stanford and Harvard Universities. His passion for language and literature earned him admission to top universities including Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and UC Berkeley. He was awarded Stanford’s Intellectual Exploration Grant, which he used to conduct linguistics research in Beijing. Between his undergraduate and graduate studies, Evan traveled and lived in Europe, Asia, and North America. He is a teacher above all else, having taught high school English and working in private education consulting before founding FORM Advising, his vision for an education space focused on personal growth of each student. Throughout his teaching and advising career, Evan has had the privilege of mentoring many exceptional young minds, helping them gain admission to their dream schools. He also speaks and writes semi-fluent Chinese.

CAMILLE SUTTON

Director of Academic Planning & Advising 
 

Camille has lived and worked in Latin America, Europe, the United States, and Canada in a career devoted to education, communication, and cultural mediation. She has a wealth of experience in the field of education and culture, having served as a translator, marketing director, international student counselor, university professor, high school teacher, and academic advisor. Camille loves mentoring K-12 and university students as they forge their academic, personal, and professional paths. She helps young people dream, envision, and design their own journey to success—and then helps them get there. Camille has helped students gain acceptance to Harvard University, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, Northwestern University, Emory University, University of Michigan, Williams College, NYU, UCLA, Oxford University, and more top universities in Canada, the US, and the UK. 

 

Camille enjoys travel, international film, and the diversity of cuisines available in Vancouver. She holds a BA from the University of Alberta, an MA from the University of British Columbia, and a PhD from Vanderbilt University. She speaks French, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

JENNIFER 
SHUTEK

Associate Advisor
 

Jennifer has extensive experience in academia. After completing her International Baccalaureate Diploma, she pursued her BA at Simon Fraser University with a major in History, a minor in English literature, and a concentration in French. She then earned her M.Phil. in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford and obtained an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Food Studies from New York University. Throughout her academic career, Jennifer has travelled extensively, living in Oxford, Fez, New York, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv. She has also studied languages including Arabic, French, and Russian.


Over a decade of teaching has given Jennifer rich pedagogical experience. As well as teaching children’s cooking classes and English as an Additional Language, Jennifer has worked as a Teaching Assistant and Adjunct Instructor at Simon Fraser University and New York University. She has also worked as a writing consultant at the New York University Steinhardt Writing Center.


Jennifer has worked in journalism, copyediting, and social media management. Her publications have appeared in academic journals, digital magazines, and academic blogs. Jennifer is an enthusiastic cook and baker, an avid reader, and enjoys walking, yoga, and dance.

REBECCA SULLIVAN

Associate Advisor
 

Rebecca is a highly qualified and motivated individual with a passion for education and ethics. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Queen's University. Her Master's Research Project focused on the ethics of emerging technologies that alter the human genome.

During her MA, she guided and mentored approximately 75 students, helping them to reach their academic potential. Rebecca also possesses experience working in diverse sectors, including academia, government, and non-profit organizations.

Her enthusiasm for education extends to working with individuals of all ages, providing them with guidance and resources in their pursuit of knowledge. Rebecca also enjoys reading, immersing herself in nature, and spending quality time with her family and dogs.

EMILY 
CHEUNG

Associate Advisor
 

Emily was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. She has both personal and professional experience with the Canadian education system. Her undergraduate honours thesis focused on what defines "the ideal student" from an admissions perspective. In her graduate work at the University of Toronto, she researched the global aspirations of Korean youth, and supervised undergraduates, advising them on how to conduct research. At FORM, she provides guidance for students, identifying their talents, helping to develop them, and assisting with their specialized academic interests.  Through her guidance, many students have succeeded in enrolling in the top-tier schools that best suit their academic profiles. Included on the list are The Courtauld Institute of Art, a leading centre for the study of the history of art, conservation, and curating, as well as many other competitive universities such as UC Berkeley, Harvard, Oxford, University College London, University of Toronto, Stanford, University of Michigan, and her alma mater, UBC. She was the curriculum designer for several courses at UBC and co-taught over 25 courses, averaging 200 students per class. She is the recipient of over $120,000 in scholarship grants for her writing, research, and teaching achievements. In recognition of her dedication to teaching, Emily was awarded the British Columbia Graduate Scholarship and the Killam Teaching Assistant Award. She is the former chair of the UBC mentorship program in which she helped undergraduate students navigate graduate admission processes. She enjoys working with all types of young people who may be focused on a preferred academic goal or need support to identify their academic direction.
